I began my career as a broadcast news producer working for various media outlets from Reuters to CNN in the US and Europe in the 1990s. I earned a master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a BS from Vassar College. I left journalism in 2001 for a more stable program management job that allowed me more flexibility in raising my two boys. Throughout the boys' childhood, I struggled with my weight and after embarking on every diet known to mankind, recently lost 64 pounds.
The pandemic afforded me time to write outside of my day job and I realized how much I missed it. So I threw myself back into the craft and am now actively, and clumsily, trying to learn as much as possible about social media. As my younger son prepares to head to college in the fall, I look forward to spending more time writing instead of cleaning decades-old dried boogers from the back of our couch.
