I began my career as a broadcast news producer working for various media outlets from Reuters to CNN in the US and Europe in the 1990s. I earned a master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a BS from Vassar College. I left journalism in 2001 for a more stable program management job that allowed me more flexibility in raising my two boys. Throughout the boys' childhood, I struggled with my weight and after embarking on every diet known to mankind, recently lost 64 pounds.
The pandemic afforded me time to write outside of my day job and I realized how much I missed it. So I threw myself back into the craft and am now actively, and clumsily, trying to learn as much as possible about social media. Now that I'm an empty nester, I look forward to spending more time writing instead of cleaning decades-old dried boogers from the back of our couch.
